Weekly Dzogchen Meditation

Every Monday evening, 7:30 pm
 
These weekly sittings (other than those on the Dzogchen Center Cambridge calendar) are led by authorized senior students of Lama Surya Das and Lama John Makransky.

Meditations on Natural Love and Awareness

Every second Saturday, 10:00am
Every fourth Wednesday, 7:30pm
 
NOTE
Due to the upcoming holidays, the Wednesday practice in December will be held on the 3rd Wednesday:
12/19 (not 12/26)
 
These are guided meditations on love and compassion as expressions of innate awareness. They include practices of bodhichitta and the bodhisattva path. Lama John Makransky urges all his students in practice to attend these sessions as often as possible.

Foundational Practices (Ngondro)

Every first Saturday, 10:00am (by invitation only)
 
A practice group meets each month to do Dudjom Tersar Ngondro under the guidance of Lama Surya and Lama John. Ngondro are foundational practices to take refuge, affirm the bodhisattva resolve, offer one’s experienced world as mandala, purify the mind through Vajrasattva, and merge with the lineage of masters through Guru yoga. Permission from Lama John Makransky is a prerequisite

Organic Awareness:
Discovering Meditation in the Field of Experience
A half-day retreat with Lama Choying Palmo
 
In the Tibetan tradition of meditation, the most profound meditation is not about “not thinking,” but rather begins, emerges and develops right within the fertile field of moment-by-moment experience. Drawing from the teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition (especially the traditions of Mahamudra and Dzogchen), Lama Palmo will discuss the concept of “organic awareness” and explore how we can use this concept to deepen and enhance the practice of meditation.

Experiencing the Nature of Mind: A Daylong Teaching with Brendan Kennedy

Brendan Kennedy is a longstanding and deep practitioner of the Dharma, a personal student of H.H. the Dalai Lama, and a yogi associated with Dzogchen Center. Brendan serves as instructor in meditation and other forms of practice at the seasonal retreats as well as serving as Dorje Lopon (practice master) at Lama Surya Das' annual Dzogchen Wisdom (100 Day) Retreats.
Weather permiting, Brendan will take us outside for the Dzogchen practice of sky-gazing.

Bring hats, sunglasses, and, if needed, a lawn chair or bench. Cushions and plastic ground covers will be provided.

Suggested donation at the door: $45.
Scholarships available. Students free with student ID. No online registration needed.
