“We don't need to overcomplicate things with all sorts of wandering discursive thoughts, superstitions, doubts and hesitations and over-thinking everything. Be strong and straightforward within, have strong intention, and develop firm faith, devotion and inner conviction; don't give up.”
~ His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa
H.H. The Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa is one of the most distinguished lamas living today. He is recognized as an emanation of the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, Avalokiteshavara, and a reincarnation of the great sages Naropa and Gampopa. The late, great Dudjom Rinpoche named him at birth; H.H. the 16th Karmapa recognized him as the 12th incarnation Drukpa; and H.H. Dalai Lama enthroned him in 1966.
His Holiness is the incarnate head of the Drukpa Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism that was established in the year 1206 by Gampopa. It is a meditation and practice lineage through which spiritual realization and perfect enlightenment can be accomplished in one lifetime. His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa embodies, represents and guides the Drukpa Lineage, maintaining and transmitting its accumulated spiritual energy in the service of the Dharma and all beings. This is a rare opportunity to receive the mind-to-mind realization of this great meditation master and highly accomplished yogi in such an intimate setting.
His Holiness has been teaching throughout the world in honor of the 800th anniversary of the Drukpa lineage. His Holiness will teach in English.
These events are sponsored by Dzogchen Center in collaboration with Dzogchen Center New York and the Druk Foundation. His Holiness will be hosted and introduced by Lama Surya Das, the Founder and Spiritual Director of Dzogchen Center. Lama Surya Das is a popular author and teacher of Buddhism and Dzogchen practice in the West.
Registration fees support the costs of the event as well as travel and related expenses. According to Buddhist tradition, the value of the teachings cannot be measured other than by those who receive them. The means by which the teachings continue have always been supported, often at great sacrifice, by those with the good fortune to recognize their value. His Holiness maintains multiple monastic institutions, schools, and cultural and religious institutions. Gifts to honor the teacher, support the teachings, and assist in this work will be accepted in the traditional form of dana (donations).
Online registration is highly recommended since these events are expected to be filled to capacity.
